Changing them does require some 'messing' about, or you can download Boot
Randomizer to make things a little easier. Also, if you are interested in
creating Boot Screens they have a piece of software for this too.
OK, if you have decided to take the plunge and do this 'manually' here are
the steps:
- Backup your entire PC - burn all of your important files to disk or CD -
Mail copies to relatives just in case yours are destroyed (Don't say we did
not warn you).
- Even if you skip the above step be sure to backup the current boot screen
- ntoskrnl.exe file (Probably in c:\windows\system32\ntoskrnl.exe).
- Download whichever file you like and copy/extract the new ntoskrnl.exe
file to any directory other than the one above.
- Reboot your computer into 'Safe Mode' (Hitting F8 before the boot screen
does this).
- Copy the new ntoskrnl.exe file to the original directory (Of course you
have backed up the original ntoskrnl.exe file right?).
- Reboot the computer again as you normally would.
Please note, we have not checked out all these packages and they remain the

packages are "Shareware" and may require a payment to their creator.
In this case it is your responsibility to make the appropriate payment to the
author. We do not act as a broker between you and the owners of these programs).
